Tips to Save a Tooth That is Knocked Out

3 Unusual Ways To Whiten Your Teeth

Do you want whiter teeth? Then you probably already know the old standbys such as whitening strips, trays, and gum. There isn't a shortage of treatments and remedies that could whiten teeth. However, did you know that your kitchen provides a treasure trove of unusual ways that you could whiten your teeth at home? Here are three usual, and cheap, ways that you can whiten your teeth.

Banana Peel

Bananas contain minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and manganese, which penetrate the stains that are on the surface of your teeth and whiten them. Additionally, bananas also contain vitamin D that can strengthen your teeth and help these minerals absorb better on your teeth. To whiten your teeth with a banana peel, take the peel from a ripe banana and rub it on your teeth. Let the paste from the banana sit and absorb into your teeth for 10 minutes. Rinse the paste off then brush and floss your teeth.

Strawberry and Baking Soda

Strawberries contain malic acid and vitamin C, which pack a powerful punch when it comes to whitening your teeth. Malic acid acts like an astringent to remove the stains that you have on the surface of your teeth. When you add baking soda to the mix, this combination is highly effective in whitening teeth. Combine one quarter of a cup of crushed strawberries to half a tablespoon of baking soda and mix both ingredients well until it forms a paste. Use a toothbrush to apply this paste to your teeth and leave it on for five minutes. Rinse the paste from your teeth then brush and floss your teeth as usual.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil when used in oil pulling can help give you whiter and stronger teeth and a healthier mouth. Moreover, coconut oil contains anti-microbial properties, which is great for reducing bacteria in your mouth. Take a tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it in your mouth for 15 minutes then spit it out. Doing this daily will help you whiten your teeth. Even though you could oil pull with different oils, coconut provides an anti-microbial advantage.

The next time that you want to whiten your teeth, go off the beaten path. Do not always rely on the conventional standards. Explore ways to achieve the same goal in a different manner. Talk with a dentist office, such as Dental Clinic Of Onalaska DDS, for other ways that you could whiten your teeth.

About Me

Tips to Save a Tooth That is Knocked Out

I love horses, and my family has kept them for years. One day, I was getting onto the saddle of my favorite horse, and I had a bad accident. My foot slipped as I was getting on her, and I fell. Thankfully, I didn't suffer any major injuries other than a tooth that was knocked out of my mouth. I had a great friend who helped me save it. She rinsed the tooth off in milk, and she had me hold it in my mouth after that until we arrived at the emergency dentist. He was able to stick it right back in! He placed a temporary splint in my mouth to keep the tooth in place until it healed. I am happy to say my tooth is perfect now! I created this blog let others know they can save a tooth that is knocked out if they act fast!
