Tips to Save a Tooth That is Knocked Out

Braces For Adults: What Will People Think?

You have suffered crooked teeth for many years as an adult, and you know that you need to have them realigned. However, you have been holding back and postponing the issue. The thought of wearing braces is not a very pleasant one.

You will be surprised to know that more and more adults are taking up braces, so you're not alone. What options do you have?

Metal Braces

Dental technology has changed over the years. Even metal braces are no longer the mouthful of metal that you knew as a teenager. The technology for placing them comfortably, and for keeping them clean, has improved. Metal braces work quickly, and they can treat a wider range of cosmetic conditions than other braces types. For example, you can correct severely crooked teeth with braces, while your options with Invisalign would be limited. Metal braces can also be cheaper than other options. If you don't mind wearing metal braces, by all means, go for them. However, if you are horrified by the thought, read on.

Invisalign

The Invisalign system uses transparent plastic trays. These are practically invisible, so no one will even know you're wearing them. They are custom-made to fit your teeth and jaws.Impressions of your teeth are made then the trays designed to fit your mouth. You have to remove them before you eat or brush your teeth but are required to wear them at least 22 hours a day. Treatment is incremental, so the braces have to be changed every two weeks, as the teeth move to realign. Invisalign orthodontics offers more advantages over conventional braces as it is better for oral hygiene. There is no danger of food getting caught in the wires. Eating is also easier and more comfortable.

So What Factors Matter?

When choosing between types of braces, you should look at cost. You should also look at the severity of your condition. One thing you shouldn't worry about is what other people will think about you getting braces as an adult.

Even if you are already an adult, you do not have to live the rest of your life with crooked teeth. Any of these options can be great ways to correct your teeth, and the right people will respect you for taking care of your appearance and making an effort to feel more comfortable in your own skin. So, choose the orthodontic option that best suits your needs, and you will be surprised at the difference the procedure can make. For more information, contact a company like RTC Dental

About Me

Tips to Save a Tooth That is Knocked Out

I love horses, and my family has kept them for years. One day, I was getting onto the saddle of my favorite horse, and I had a bad accident. My foot slipped as I was getting on her, and I fell. Thankfully, I didn't suffer any major injuries other than a tooth that was knocked out of my mouth. I had a great friend who helped me save it. She rinsed the tooth off in milk, and she had me hold it in my mouth after that until we arrived at the emergency dentist. He was able to stick it right back in! He placed a temporary splint in my mouth to keep the tooth in place until it healed. I am happy to say my tooth is perfect now! I created this blog let others know they can save a tooth that is knocked out if they act fast!
